The highlight of West Linton village life is the Whipman festival held annually during the first week of June. The festival is known as the Whipman Play to reflect the important role that the horse has played in the life of the village. It is wonderful week where the majority of the village participate in the many games, sporting events, and social evenings. The Whipman festival brings the village together and maintains the traditions of providing a week of entertainment whilst raising monies for various charities.
St Mungo’s is actively involved in this event, frequently hosting the Whipman Service and providing the chaplaincy during the week.
