Ghana link

St Mungo’s has a link with SS Peter and Paul Church, Saltpond in the Diocese of Cape Coast, Ghana. Visits of clergy and lay people in both directions have happened in recent years.

A photo gallery of images taken during a visit by Ian Kerry and Dave King of St Mungo’s  is on the Edinburgh Diocesan website.

In 2014, our current Rector, Rev’d Lynsay M Downs went to Ghana as part of Bishop John’s delegation for the valedictory service of Bishop Daniel of Cape Coast and the Enthronement of Bishop Viktor of Cape Coast. She was also able to visit SS Peter and Paul. Below are some of the photos from this latest trip.

Bishop Viktor was able to visit us here in West Linton earlier this year. The pictures show that he enjoyed a ‘right Scottish welcome’ and was presented with a chalice and patten for Saltpond, which he intended to use when celebrating the Eucharist there as part of his first ordination service since becoming a bishop.
